Dude I wish Sega'd bring back those monitors in the newer games. It could work in 3D as well, plus the sound effects. Even add a couple new monitor power-ups specific to a game.

Sonic Frontiers would be a perfect game for monitors, due to the high-tech Ancients (the rainy weather could pose issues though).
